A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We had a fun trip to the pumpkin patch this year.  Claire is old enough that she can pull the wagon of pumpkins.  We carved them a few days before Halloween - even still the squirrels had a huge feast on them.

First Day of 4 Year Old Pre-School

Can you tell I'm emptying my camera today?  Claire was all smiles for her first day of Pre-School.

And, I'm here to report that her first parent-teacher conference went well too.  If only they will all be like this.  Her teacher told us that she's alot of fun to have in class.  She doesn't freak out if something doesn't go her way (unlike at home).  She also was able to identify all her letters, numbers, shapes and colors.  The most interesting thing to me was that they do some kindergarten readiness assessments at the beginning and end of the year.  One is to draw a picture of herself - her teacher said it is really good that she draws herself with a body and not just a face or a stick.  Things that I never would know are important... Yay, Claire!

Happy Halloween

Claire had a great week of Halloween festivities.  A parade at school with some songs, ballet with costumes, and trick or treating.  She had alot of fun!

Leaves

We did leaves yesterday.  Claire had fun with the rake, the blower, and jumping in piles of leaves.

Sparkles

Claire was asking my dad about the day she was born. "How did I get my name?" "Well, your mom and dad thought about it for a few months and when they met you, they decided to name you Claire. When the nurse asked what your name was, they told her 'Claire'. She said, 'That is a beautiful name for a beautiful girl.'" "They could have named me Sparkles."

Michigan (Long Post... Lots of Pictures)

We just got back from a week in Michigan where we had a great time.  The weather was good enough to swim every day and it was breezy and cool at night - great sleeping!  Jeff said that he needed to check Claire for gills when we got home - the girl dolphin jumped her way up and down the shore.

Weekend at Grandma's

We went up to visit Grandma, see a parade, and swim in her pool.  Claire had a fun time.

Butterflies

Claire and Jeff like to get caterpillars and watch them turn into butterflies.  This is the second year we did it and Claire enjoyed it more this year than last.

Bein' Four

Me: Claire, did you have a special birthday weekend? Claire: Yep. Me: What was your favorite part? Claire: Bein' four. That about sums it up. She is really impressed about being four. "Now that I'm four, I don't need to wear sunblock.". "Now that I'm four, I'm one of the big kids. I'm not a baby anymore."

Busy, Busy, Bithday Weekend

Today is Claire's 4th birthday.  We had a party yesterday with alot of her cousins and friends.  Today we went to the zoo and played in her new "Flower Power" sprinkler.  We all had a great weekend (as evidenced by the fact that as I write this, she's passed out on the couch).  Can't believe she's four - I have no idea where this time is going.
