Summer Coming Early

 

 

 

 

We've had an unusually warm spell this month. Claire took full advantage today.

Pronouns and such

Claire is talking more and more every day. She hasn't mastered her pronouns just yet which makes for some pretty comical interchanges.

Claire: "With you, Mommy."
Me: "You want to come with me?"
Claire: "No, with you, Mommy." (Meaning with her)

Claire: "Push me, Mommy." (On the swing, we're not teaching blocking and tackling just yet)
Me: "Okay, get up on the swing."
Claire: "Push ME, Mommy."
Me: "Oh, you want to push me?"
Claire: "Yeah."

I'm sure, she's totally associated "you" with herself and "me" with Jeff or me and that she thinks I'm the total dummy who can't keep her own name straight. She'll get it, I'm sure. But, it's pretty funny right now.

Our Weekend Project

 

 

 

 

This year we decided to get Claire a playset for her birthday. We put it together this weekend. She actually probably would have been perfectly happy if we had screwed the steering wheel onto our shed and left the slide laying on the ground. However, she REALLY likes her new swingset.

Stubborn Little Girl

 

 

Claire is at the stage where she is always pushing the limits. Although this car has a perfectly good door, she chooses not to use it. And this is the look that she gives me - she knows she's not "supposed" to climb into the car "Dukes of Hazzard" style.

Happy Mother's Day! I hope your Mother's Day was as nice as mine. I got a cute and delicious Mother's Day present from Claire - flower cookies that she decorated. We went to the zoo... and smelled some lilacs. Perfect by many standards.

No Comment!

Claire's favorite thing to say lately is "No...not!" She says it to everything:

"Claire, it's time to get dressed." "No...not."

"Claire, it's time to have a cookie." "No... not."

I believe the question posed before this picture was, "Claire, it is time to go inside." "No... not."
